These terms and conditions apply to the use of the website www.donnajoneshair.co.uk and/or by making a booking by telephone, email, text, and social media/placing a deposit, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set out below and any changes made to them that are deemed necessary without prior notification. Donna Jones Hairdressing will not be held responsible for a booked client who chooses not to read the contract or these terms and conditions. It is the responsibility of the named person on the contract (known as the bridal party leader or bride) to understand, agree, and accept responsibility for all booking conditions, including all payments due by specified dates. By proceeding to sign the contract, and pay a deposit, you accept that you are entering into a contract and you agree to be bound by these conditions. If you do not agree to be bound to these terms and conditions you may not use or access this website or book any services with Donna Jones Hairdressing.
Booking Agreement (Terms & Conditions)
This agreement is made between Donna Jones Hairdressing and the client as detailed in the bridal contract. Any changes to the booking form/bridal contract (such as dates, locations and number of clients) must be made in writing/email and agreed with Donna Jones Hairdressing.
If due to non-availability Donna Jones Hairdressing transfers the client’s booking to another recommended hairstylist the client will enter into another contract with the substituted hairstylist.
If the client enters into a new agreement with a substituted hairstylist or recommended make-up artist, then Donna Jones Hairdressing has no legal responsibility or on-going liability to the client in connection with the booking.
Bookings Procedure and Deposit
Donna Jones Hairdressing will hold provisional bookings confirmed by telephone, email, text or social media for a period of 48 hours from the first point of contact and the appointment will become final upon the safe receipt of the agreed booking fee. Donna Jones Hairdressing will acknowledge receipt of the deposit by email and confirm this as the final wedding day booking. In the event that the booking fee is not received within 48 hours then the booking will lapse and the date will become available to another client.
It is the client’s sole responsibility to book an appointment with Donna Jones Hairdressing for the trial run. This initial booking deposit is non-refundable or transferable and will be deducted from the wedding day balance. Any deposit paid is deducted from the final balance and is not an upfront payment for trials. Trial costs are due at the time of the trial, or prior, and accepted methods of payment are cash or bank transfer only. If for any reason you wish to cancel the wedding day booking outside the 28 day period set out in these terms and conditions and after having a trial run that you are totally satisfied with a cancellation fee of £70 will incur.
The remaining final balance is to be paid to Donna Jones Hairdressing 28 days prior to the wedding day itself by cash or bank transfer. Should no payments be made at any time despite a reminder by email/text, social media, Donna Jones Hairdressing has the right to cancel all services for your wedding date and all fees due will still be payable.
The booking deposit must be received within 48 hours of a provisional booking being made in order to reserve the date, unless paying by cheque in which case it should be received within 5 working days. The payment can be made by cheque to “DONNA JONES” and sent to 18 Captains Parade, East Cowes, Isle of Wight PO326GT.
If no deposit is received then the provisional booking will lapse and will only be re-instated if the date remains available and the full deposit is received.
If the client wishes to alter the booked date, the booking deposit paid for the original date is non-refundable or transferable.
You may add to your quote at any point but regretfully Donna Jones Hairdressing cannot take items away from your original booking unless it is in exceptional circumstances. If you ask to remove any item from your original booking you will still be liable to pay for it. Donna Jones Hairdressing will try to accommodate changes; however, this is subject to availability only.
The final balance is due 28 days before the date of the wedding. This payment can be paid in advance of the wedding day by cash or bank transfer to Donna Jones Hairdressing. Should no payment be made despite a reminder by email/text, social media, Donna Jones Hairdressing has the right to cancel all services for your wedding date and all fees due will still be payable.
Any additional items such as clip in extensions or hair accessories are an extra cost. Prices are available on quotation.
Donna Jones Hairdressing reserves the right to make changes to the terms and prices without notice. If changes are made you will be notified as soon as possible. Prices are subject to increase depending on the difficulty of the styles chosen for the party.
Services To Be Supplied
It is strongly recommended that a trial appointment is booked at least 6 weeks before the wedding date to agree a style and procedure for the wedding day. Several hair styles may be tried at the trial appointment(s) until the client chooses her preferred style for the wedding day. This will last for 90 minutes. If the trial exceeds 90 minutes because of a complete change of idea or style requested by the client an additional charge of £40 per hour will incur. A second trial can be booked subject to availability only. The same charges as your first trial will apply.
At the trial Donna Jones Hairdressing will offer professional advice and suggestions, will work with you until we achieve a look which is compatible with your hair type/length. Donna Jones Hairdressing aims to meet high expectations. Good communication and cooperation is important to achieve this. It is appreciated that it can sometimes take a little longer to reach this goal and your time is not limited however, trials which have exceeded a reasonable timeframe will incur additional charges, or if any of our team are feeling fatigued from an unreasonably long trial we may be forced to ‘call time’ and a second trial will not be offered.
Any requests to completely change the agreed hairstyle after the date of trial run will require a further trial appointment so that the client is happy with the new tested style. An additional £40 charge will be made for this.
If the client is unhappy or dissatisfied in any way with the service supplied prior to or during the trial then she must notify Donna Jones Hairdressing immediately. Further services may be supplied entirely at the discretion of Donna Jones Hairdressing. If you decide to not participate in a wedding hair trial for reasons such as time limitation, cost, distance, Donna Jones Hairdressing cannot be held responsible or liable in any way if you are dissatisfied with any part of the service on or after your wedding date. It is also the client’s responsibility that she is governed by the time of the wedding ceremony. If the client is not happy with any untested styles there may not be enough time to redo the hairstyle. Donna Jones Hairdressing cannot be held responsible for this and has the right to leave and cancel the booking without any refund.
Donna Jones Hairdressing will always do her professional best to accommodate the client. In the unlikely event the client has unrealistic expectations and/or is unreasonable or rude Donna Jones Hairdressing has the right to cancel a client’s booking after the trial without a refund of deposits providing all remedies have been exhausted.
At busy times Donna Jones Hairdressing may have several bookings on any one date.
Exclusivity is not guaranteed for the whole day of any event, therefore timings will be seriously considered by Donna Jones Hairdressing when agreeing to a booking. When reserving your date book accordingly. An exclusivity fee can be arranged if preferred and must be paid at the time of the booking deposit.
The contract will contain a start and finish time approved by the client. Each hairstyle will require a certain length of time to be finished and is not to exceed the agreed time limit. Any extra hairstyling required will be carried out at the discretion of Donna Jones Hairdressing and charged accordingly. All persons involved in hair appointments need to be ready at the agreed venue and time in order to not break the contract. In the event that the client is late for the agreed appointment time and Donna Jones Hairdressing is unable to proceed with the hair in the time limit as agreed in the contract, Donna Jones Hairdressing has the right to leave and cancel the booking without any refund.
On The Day
It is the bride’s responsibility to ensure that all members of the bridal party are strictly available at their pre-arranged, allocated times. Donna Jones Hairdressing requires that all hair is ready and prepped for styling at the agreed time of arrival, i.e. washed and dried (the evening before or on that morning, whatever suits you and your hair type best). Please ensure every member of your party is aware of timings on the day and that they need to be, and remain, available. Should one or more of your bridal party not be ready we will be forced to cut their allocated time short by however long they delay us. Clients that wish to have blow-dried or certain types of sets will need to wash their hair so it is damp ready to be styled. Donna Jones will not be responsible for washing any hair. Any wedding day hairstyling that exceeds the times agreed in the contract for the whole booking will incur an extra hourly rate charge at the discretion of Donna Jones Hairdressing. No refund or compensation will be offered for delays caused by other wedding vendors, guests, or members of the bridal party.
On the day you must provide a chair and a work top or table nearby to place equipment on. You must ensure that it is a suitable working environment with adequate lighting, electricity points, and hand washing facilities.
There is a discretional charge for travel expenses on all journeys that incur 5 miles out of East Cowes, Isle of Wight.
Health & Safety
If the client has any allergies or medical conditions it is requested that she must notify Donna Jones Hairdressing immediately. You must inform us of any allergies or reactions prior to, or after, any hair styling. If no known allergies are stated we cannot be held liable for any reactions, injuries, losses, damage, costs, claims and actions that may occur to you or any other member of your party.
Please do not sit any children/babies on your lap whilst having your hair styled. For their own safety please ensure that children are kept away from our styling tools and products at all times. Styling irons are extremely hot and hazardous, we will not be held responsible if a child is injured as a result of the parent or carer not being present.
Donna Jones Hairdressing has a strict no smoking policy and reserves the right to refuse further work should any member of your bridal party, or any of your wedding guests, choose to smoke within our allocated work space.
Please note due to cases of head lice, Donna Jones Hairdressing will now make a thorough analysis of each individual’s hair at all appointments. If head lice whether dead or alive, eggs or the dirt traces they leave are found we will not be able to carry out the hair trial or wedding day booking for that individual. Please note that this stands for trials and the wedding day. This is nothing over and above what a reputable hairdresser/salon practises and to avoid disappointment it is highly recommend that you check everyone’s hair ahead of the appointment. If Donna Jones Hairdressing is unable to proceed with the hair you are not eligible for a refund as it is your responsibility.
All contact, whether it be general enquiries or changes to a booking, must be from the bride or person responsible for the booking only. Donna Jones is unable to accommodate further contact from bridesmaids or relatives due to the volume of bookings we manage and emails received.
Wedding Trial Cancellations
In the event that the client misses the trial run appointment with Donna Jones Hairdressing the client will be charged at full price. If the client wishes to cancel, reschedule or amend the trial run appointment, 48 hrs notice must be given by text, email or telephone.
Trials are not compulsory but are recommended. Without a trial Donna Jones Hairdressing will not accept responsibility if a chosen style or look does not work on a wedding day or there are circumstances where there is a mismatch in styles, approach, or expectations, and a refund will not be offered.
Wedding Day Booking Cancellations
If for any reason you need to cancel your wedding day booking, this should be confirmed by email or writing as soon as possible. Cancellations made by you within the 28 days prior to the wedding day itself will incur a cancellation fee amounting to 50% of the final balance that you will be liable to pay. Cancellations made within 7 days prior to the wedding day itself you will be liable to pay 100% of the final balance. Should you cancel your booking or individual services more than 28 days prior to your wedding date you will incur a £70 cancellation fee. Booking deposits are non-refundable or transferable
At any time if a client is dissatisfied with the trial service and has paid a deposit to secure a wedding appointment the client reserves the right to cancel the booking in writing/email if done within 48 hours of the trial appointment, providing they abide by the terms and conditions. The wedding day deposit will be refunded excluding trial cost. If Donna Jones Hairdressing experiences unforeseen delays which is out of our control, such as severe weather conditions or unexpected traffic congestion, compensation will not be offered if we exceed our allocated time and refunds will not be given in the event that one or more services are forfeited as a result.
In the event of extreme weather conditions, where the ‘Met office’ has issued a ‘Red’ warning, Donna Jones Hairdressing reserves the right to cancel your booking. We will refund all monies, excluding trial costs and booking fee, as a gesture of good will.
In the highly unlikely event that we cannot attend on the day of your wedding date due to unforeseen and unfortunate events or circumstances on our part, Donna Jones Hairdressing may need to cancel a wedding day or trial booking. If this happens Donna Jones Hairdressing will try to reschedule your appointment as soon as possible. However if another appointment cannot be rescheduled, Donna Jones Hairdressing will offer you the details of an alternative hairstylist/salon in the local area and will refund everything including the deposits/trial fee. This will be the extent of our liability and any such booking will remain solely the responsibility of you.
Donna Jones Hairdressing reserves the right to refuse/cancel your booking if;
Your booking fee or deposit(s) for your wedding day booking do not reach us within the stated deadline given by Donna Jones Hairdressing.
Your payment to Donna Jones Hairdressing does not clear in the bank (bounces)
Donna Jones Hairdressing is not provided with the correct forms of payment.
If your confirmed booking numbers fall well below what was originally requested upon booking i.e. you required 4 people booked in for hair and now would only like one person for hairstyling, Donna Jones Hairdressing may not take on your booking.
The venue that we are due to attend on the day of your wedding changes and it is an area is not covered and or you are not willing to cover our additional travel charges/drive time costs to get to the new location and or the new location means that Donna Jones Hairdressing will be late to an pre-arranged appointment directly after yours due to travelling distance.
Donna Jones Hairdressing does not receive correct information from you at the time of booking and or we cannot get hold of you on the contact details we are given and or if we are having to go through a 3rd party to communicate with you (i.e. friends, wedding planner or family) to chase payments & any booking confirmations.
If Donna Jones Hairdressing does not receive confirmation back that you will be attending your trial session and or the correct locations that we need to attend on your trial run or wedding day
Rudeness or any other anti-social behaviour.
Your contract is not signed.
Donna Jones Hairdressing reserves the right to refuse/cancel any wedding day bookings or payments at any time and for any reason.
Donna Jones Hairdressing requests that the client allows photos of the wedding to be used as part of the Donna Jones Hairdressing portfolio, website, social media and any other publicity material. If the client does not agree to this they should inform Donna Jones Hairdressing immediately.
Donna Jones Hairdressing is happy to be photographed on your wedding morning however any photo image incorporating our hair design on the internet, or on any other advertisement, must make reference or credit us as the hairstylist.
Whilst Donna Jones Hairdressing is happy to help clients into dresses on the wedding day please be aware that this is not covered by our public liability insurance. Anything that happens when the client is being dressed or whilst in the dress will be solely the owner’s responsibility.
Donna Jones Hairdressing accepts no responsibility for damage to any head dress, flowers, tiara, veil unless through direct negligence.
The client’s details will be kept by Donna Jones Hairdressing, but will never be passed on or sold to any third party.
